Fair Park Recognized as One The 10 Most Impressive Art Deco Buildings in the World

MSN’s Leisure + Travel has put together a list of the 10 most impressive Art Deco Buildings in the world. George L. Dahl’s Fair Park was named on this list for being the largest and one of the most extraordinary collections of art deco buildings in the world. Adrienne Akin Faulkner, granddaughter of the late George Dahl has often referred to him as being one of her inspirations for getting into the world of interior architecture and design.

The 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition at Fair Park in Dallas featured a complex of twenty-six Art Deco-style buildings designed by ten firms. George Dahl oversaw the planning and construction of the entire fair, which was completed in the astonishingly brief period of only nine months. The complex is now recognized as one of the best preserved assemblages of depression-era architecture and in 1986 was designated a national historic landmark.
