The Sudbury - Boston, MA

The Sudbury, a new 46-story high-rise in Boston, MA, is the first unit of the five-part development titled “Bulfinch Crossing,” aptly named after American architect, Charles Bulfinch, that will connect multifamily housing with a variety of premier entertainment and dining options to create a new resident experience. Taking place of the long-standing Government Center Garage built in the 1960s, every detail has been meticulously and strategically planned from the tedious deconstruction of the garage’s massive beams (which took one day per beam to remove, pulverize, and take it off-site), to the furniture layout which utilized furnishings with lower heights to ensure unobstructed, expansive views on every side of the building. An extensive mixed-used, master plan community over 15-years in the making and spanning two blocks of the downtown area, Faulkner Design Group collaborated with HYM Investments and CBT Architects to create the stunning core of this unique multifamily experience, working closely with the Boston Fire Department and the Massachusetts Plumbing Board to adhere to strict requirements while maintaining an astounding modern design. Each amenity space is designed to fit specific functions and create a distinct atmosphere, paying close attention to dynamic design features that provide continuity throughout the community to establish fluid movement from one space to the next. The Sudbury brings a major street presence to an already bustling section of city with design details, such as a massive back-lit onyx wall that draws the attention to the interiors from passersby on street. The stand-out location puts The Sudbury at the heart of downtown Boston while the on-site amenities and the soon-coming extension of this sweeping development will open infinite opportunities for recreation, dining, business, and health to create a new resident experience like no other.
