A Look Inside Atria Mount Pleasant

Atria Mount Pleasant is located among the rich cultural and artistic features of the town of Mount Pleasant, SC, a family-friendly neighborhood that is connected to downtown Charleston via the Arthur Ravenal Jr. Bridge. The community’s design pursues the concept of minimizing the separation of independent and assisted living levels of care while maximizing the choices and autonomy of residents.

All levels of care enter through the same doors and are greeted in the same reception area. This eliminates hierarchy in the community, promoting interaction between all levels of care.  Independent and assisted living share amenities such as the Bistro, Club Room, and Wellness Suite.  Multiple courtyards are accessible to these residents through the connecting Grotto. The open nature of the common areas allows staff more flexibility and collaboration among caregivers.  The core of the building and common areas are built to assisted living code regulations and fire protection standards providing maximum flexibility so that rooms on the third level can be easily converted to meet any assisted living needs in the future. The memory care neighborhoods remain secure but still have a connection to the main entrance.

The community’s design entwines the picturesque and elegant charm of low-country architecture into each space, creating a sense of unity with its surroundings.  The interiors are fresh and lively, filled with emerald greens and scarlet. Highlights of black and white in vibrant traditional patterns are presented in fabrics, flooring, and wallcoverings. A subtle continuation of the exterior architectural features into the interior gives a feel of Southern hospitality and charm, while still providing modern design elements that appeal to the wide variety of those who call Atria Mount Pleasant home. With careful study of Southern culture, the implementation of the local vernacular into the architecture and design allows the Atria Mount Pleasant community to fit naturally within its setting.

The beautiful community of Atria Mount Pleasant sits on a large plot of nearly twelve acres, the edge of the property lined with trees to uphold the design of a traditional grand southern home and blend seamlessly with the surrounding city of Sandy Springs.

The elegant lobby combines upscale marble surfaces, dark hardwood floors, and lively green accents to create an exuberant welcome area that receives residents from all levels of care, eliminating hierarchy and promoting resident interaction.

With a stone fireplace as the centerpiece, the grotto follows the design of a casual retreat with a splash of luxury resort grandeur.

Brick and wood inlay make up the flooring for this outdoor area mimic the charming and artistic streets of historic Charleston.

Elegant marble countertops and brick flooring meld beautifully in this lavish bistro to create a casual segue between the lobby and the grotto, with dynamic green accents, intricate chandeliers, and an array of seating areas.

A black and white color scheme puts a modern twist on grand southern style, with hanging drum lights, an exquisite, beveled marble fireplace and simplistic floral wallpaper accents to converge comfort and luxury in the resident dining area.

An elegant display case housing a variety of artisan wines on each side of the corridor creates a prominent and lavish entrance to the Wine Bar.

The space features vibrant splashes of green and red with modernized furnishings to give the feel of being in a sumptuous, plush wine bar in the historic, neighboring city of Charleston.

The indoor pool area features large windows with high ceilings and white quartzite covering the walls and floor, creating a brighter space that brings the outside indoors.

The memory care living room continues the vibrancy of the rest of the community with a softer palette but still includes a fresh splash of green.
