MEET ALISON: THE SPANISH LASS!

SOMETHING ABOUT ALISON

Bringing hints of Spanish culture and an adoration for iconic and classic tastes to FDG’s ever-growing table, Alison was brought aboard back in 2017. Alison brought with her years of expert experience in the field and a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Rice University after graduating in 1993.

Alison was quickly adopted into the FDG family with her warming personality and willingness to help others no matter the circumstance. Her incredible team work and motivation to be the best designer she can be has catapulted her into designing incredible properties and communities for residents to enjoy. With the combination of the cultural arts she totes with her and her experience both in the United States and abroad, Alison has been dubbed “The Spanish Lass.”

BEHIND HER DESIGNS

Alison’s love for the arts, architecture, and Spanish culture began in high school while studying architecture and art history. She could always be found rearranging furniture growing up and was motivated by her teachers to pursue architecture. Alison spent time interning in the interiors department of Ford, Powell, & Carson Inc. at only 15-years-old and extended her studies into the Spanish culture by studying and interning abroad in Barcelona, Spain, in college. Throughout the years, Alison has amassed knowledge and experience that she incorporates into her own creativity to design incredible communities all over the nation.

MORE ABOUT ALISON

HOBBY

Playing Piano

For Alison, playing piano is excellent for stress therapy. She even takes piano lessons with her daughter! Currently, Alison is learning how to play “Take Five” by Dave Brubeck, which is turning out to be her favorite piece.

HIDDEN TALENT

Fused Glass Art & Pour Art

Making incredible pieces of art while she was in San Francisco, Alison completely fell in love with creating beautiful glass art and astonishing pour art. (Fun fact: Alison’s daughter, Julia, who loves that the artwork requires the use of a blowtorch, taught her how to do pour art!)

One of Alison’s favorite accomplishments is her outstanding family. She lives for going on travel adventures with her daughter and husband and exploring the world. While the COVID-19 pandemic has halted their foreign exploration, her husband, Corey bought kayaks for he and Alison to use for more local adventures in the DFW area every weekend. Alison is hopeful to explore various lakes and rivers of the United States once the pandemic clears and travel becomes safe and exciting again. Motivated by her love for the comedy group Monty Python and The Beatles, Alison sees a trip to London in the future for her and her family. In the mean time, she’ll be visiting local eats like Mesero. Alison suggests sitting on their incredible patio and ordering the fish tacos!
