MEET CAMERON: THE ENERGIZER!

A BIT ABOUT CAMERON

After graduating from Texas Christian University in 2019 with a degree in Interior Design and a minor in Business, Cameron was quickly scooped up by the FDG Design Team who adored her passion for creativity and design as well as her bubbly personality.

Always striving to do and be better herself, Cameron loves to encourage others to continually grow and break free from pernicious, self-limiting mindsets so they can reach their fullest potential. Cameron has been dubbed “The Energizer,” a name befitting the culmination of her zeal, motivation, and compassion for others.

HOMETOWN

Plano, TX

Resting just on the outskirts of Dallas, TX, is Cameron’s hometown of Plano. Although this city, with a population nearing 300,000, may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of Texas, Plano’s cultured downtown area was featured on the “2016 Top Downtown” list and is known for great cuisine, ample and varied employment opportunities, and activities for all ages and interests.

BEHIND HER DESIGNS

Art and design have always been Cameron’s forte. Creating structure and organizing environments in aesthetically pleasing ways are skillsets that come naturally to her. Cameron’s designs not only capture the natural beauty around her, but also create tranquil atmospheres that resonate peace within the soul. Cameron was first introduced to the field of interior design by her mother, who has experience as a seasoned interior decorator. Cameron’s decision to pursue a career in interior design derived from her desire to align with her calling and utilize her artistic abilities in a functional way that gives back to society.

CAMERON’S FAVORITES

FAVORITE PART OF THE JOB

Everything

FDG’s fast-paced atmosphere poses new challenges and experiences every day. While Cameron adores the dynamic office environment, she finds installs to be the most rewarding. Unmatched enjoyment comes from watching a space come to life through years of hard work and hours of manual labor.

FAVORITE PROJECT

Churchill at Golden Triangle

This multifamily project is one of the first that Cameron has had the opportunity to take part of from the very beginning. Her creative mind has been paramount to every step of the design process. The project’s design concept is inspired by natural motifs with some soft and elegant touches.

FAVORITE HOBBY

FAVORITE COLOR

Exercising

Keeping a healthy body and mind is one of Cameron’s main priorities. As a perpetual learner, she’s always researching the best of nutrition, psychology, and overall wellness. Her favorite exercise activities are hiking beautiful trails off the beaten path and weight lifting. (Fun Fact: Cameron can lift 1.5x her body weight.)

Purple

This enchanting color is a symbol for a variety of things including royalty, creativity, and ambition. Purple has been Cameron’s favorite color for as long as she can remember. During her childhood, her bedroom walls were coated in a sophisticated shade of purple. Not to mention a phrase often used by her alma mater, TCU, is “We bleed purple.”

Autumn in Vancouver, British Columbia.

FAVORITE DESTINATION

Vancouver, British Columbia

With hiking in the mountains stealing the number one spot for her favorite activity, it’s no surprise that Vancouver is her favorite destination. Earlier this year, Cameron and other FDG team members had the opportunity to cross the US border and explore the majestic Canadian city before installing a project in Seattle, WA. She had a blast enjoying the chilly weather, photographing the vibrant scenery, and immersing herself in the culture of the city.

FAVORITE SEASON

Autumn

What’s better than strolling through the woods on a crisp autumn day as deep red, vibrant orange, and bright yellow leaves sway with the breeze around you? Cameron adores spending time outside during the season of autumn as well as baking healthy pumpkin treats to snack on. Her favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, also takes place during this magical and heartwarming season - a time in which she can reminisce and give thanks with her family.

FAVORITE MUSIC GENRE

Variety

Cameron listens to everything from Christian Pop and Worship to Alternative, even jamming to some Neo-Mellow every now and then, according to her Spotify account. Last year alone she listened to 61,874 minutes of music!

FAVORITE CAR-KARAOKE SONG

“Little Wonders

This epic track by Rob Thomas was used in Disney’s “Meet the Robinsons.” This film encourages individuals to “Keep Moving Forward,” a phrase coined by Walt Disney and one that aligns with Cameron’s own beliefs.

FAVORTE PODCAST GENRE

Wellness

Cameron listens to at least 3 hours of podcasts every day. Her favorite podcast shows include motivational speakers, sermons, and nutrition and fitness podcasts by which she can learn something new and keep her brain engaged!

FAVORITE
BOOK

“The Gifts of Imperfection”

Similar to the podcasts, Cameron appreciates books that lead to her mental and physical betterment, reading 2-3 books a month. Brene Brown’s self-help book is by far Cameron’s favorite, fostering positive change.

MORE ABOUT CAMERON

Cameron’s lifestyle revolves around fulfilling goals, creating to-do lists, and crafting action plans. She refuses to “take it easy” and would rather spend time learning something new and scheming for her future. Cameron is often told that Sandra Bullock is her celebrity doppelgänger, which is perfect for Cameron who absolutely adores the actress. Sushi is easily Cameron’s favorite meal and 9/10 times she prefers to order the riceless roll variations filled with salmon and crab mix - a combination that never fails to leave her satisfied. Though she’s lived in or near Plano her entire life, Cameron is grateful to still be around her family of five!

HIDDEN TALENT

Capturing and Creating Beauty

Cameron has always been inclined to draw, paint, or photograph the world around her, becoming quite skillful from a young age. Her favorite pieces of art include her charcoal butterfly sketch that took her four weeks to complete (as she wanted to get every detail perfect), a charcoal sketch of her dog Chelsea, and an incredible photograph of a mountain’s summit.
