HOMETOWN

Dallas, TX

Growing up in Dallas and the surrounding area, Sarah was privy to diverse settings and atmospheres that only furthered her desire to travel and learn about the world.

DESIGNS BY SARAH

Blueprints are a fundamental foundation to any project and Sarah skillfully designs floor plans and renderings as a technical designer at FDG. Through these plans, Sarah helps bring to life the ideas and visions of the clients she works with.

Her love for history has enticed her to learn more about the background of each project, which has ultimately led her to work with FDG’s marketing team on award writing from time to time.

SARAH’S FAVORITES

PROJECT

Churchill at Golden Triangle

Being the first project that Sarah was assigned to from the very start, she enjoys seeing the project grow throughout the various stages. Churchill at Golden Triangle is a very calming, nature-inspired project that is budget friendly, but still maintains the beauty and amenities of a high-end property.

Sarah believes the ability to work within any budget and still create projects that stand out says a lot about FDG’s designers.

HOBBY

Eating

Constantly trying out new recipes or visiting new restaurants, Sarah’s favorite recipe so far is buttered chicken while her favorite restaurant is Kalachandjis in Dallas.

“Isn’t eating wonderful?” - Sarah

PART OF THE JOB

The Variety

Sarah appreciates the variety on a daily basis. With projects always at different points in the design process, there’s always something new to learn.

“You never know what form the challenge of the day is going to come in.” - Sarah

SEASON

Autumn

Each fall, Sarah makes it a point to get outside as much as possible to get a feel for the refreshing autumn air. Boasting scarves, boots, and anything pumpkin themed, Sarah immerses herself into the season like a pro.

DESTINATION

“Somewhere I Haven’t Been”

As someone who watches the planes flying overhead and wonders where they’re headed, Sarah is always searching for her next adventure. While Portugal and Spain are high on her list, Sarah is determined to explore every inch of the world.

MOVIE

TV SHOW

MUSIC GENRE

“The Sound of Music”

A combination of the unforgettable music, the gorgeous setting that generates beautiful shots each scene, and the sweet story line based on an incredible memoir makes this movie Sarah’s all-time favorite.

“Downton Abbey”

Sarah loves the show’s Masterpiece Theatre elements, such as the depth of storytelling and the intricacy of the plot that always leaves her guessing what will happen next. From the British accents to the show’s unapologetic twists such as killing off main characters, “Downton Abbey” is by far Sarah’s favorite.

Country

Country music has become a symbol of Texas and is Sarah’s favorite music genre. However, her exploratory mindset attracts Sarah to a wide-range of genres including heavy metal, classical piano, soul, Latin hip hop, southern gospel, and pop.

MORE ABOUT SARAH

Being raised in Dallas has made Sarah a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, a trait she has shared with her dad since before she can remember. Her childhood incorporated farm life with her family raising a variety of animals including llamas and sheep.

(Sarah even once tackled a sheep in the mud when it tried to get away.)

Sarah is always looking for new trails to explore within 90 miles of the Dallas area, and constantly keeps her eyes peeled for new travel destinations to add to her bucket list. When she has some downtime, Sarah enjoys reading and has read 106 books since April 2017.

Hidden Talent: Ear Wiggling

Similar to Alfalfa from “The Little Rascals,” Sarah’s talent is wiggling her ears. Taking it to the next level, she can actually wiggle them separately.

FDG loves having Sarah as part of our team and enjoyed getting to know her better! Who knew we’d have our very own sheep wrestler? Keep an eye open for our next Employee Spotlight to see who Sarah will choose!
