Business Develoment Manager

Position Description

The Business Development Manager has a vital position in the financial growth and brand recognition of the company. This position coordinates directly with the Leadership Team and the Marketing Team to identify and develop new clients and retain current clients. The Business Development Manager will travel as necessary to develop new clients, including attending conferences, business meetings, and new client/project interviews.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with multifamily, senior living, and student housing developers, owners, operators, architects, and other strategic partners.

  • Conduct research to identify potential clients, new markets, and client needs

  • Arrange business introduction and follow-up meetings with prospective clients

  • Identify and attend key industry conferences, networking events, and business development opportunities.

  •  Promote FDG’s services by understanding client goals, needs, and investment objectives.

  • Develop marketing strategy and proposal content with the Marketing Team

  •  Follow up with clients throughout the sales cycle converting proposals to signed contracts

  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to forecast sales, revenue, and future opportunities.

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of FDG’s project history, experience, and capabilities.

  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction

  • Follow up with clients after project completion to garner honest feedback for improving project delivery

  • Own and maintain FDG’s CRM platform and ensure contacts, companies, opportunities, activates, and relationship history remains accurate and current

Qualifications

  • Software (current versions): Microsoft Office Suite (proficiency), Adobe Creative Suite (working knowledge), familiarity with web-based platforms such as Squarespace, Google Docs, and Formstack

  • Proficiency with CRM software

  • Experience: 8+ years business development, client development, marketing or related experience within interior design. architecture, multifamily, senior living, hospitality, or related service industries

  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally for client meetings, conferences, events, and market development.

  • Excellent organization, proactive, multi-tasking, problem-solving, attention to detail and time management skills

  • Possess strong written, oral, and communication skills

  • Experience coordinating proposals, RFP responses, and qualification packages
